Form add wins & second places together. Divide by the number of starts, result is a percentage
• 40 - 50% = 1 point
• 51 - 70% = 2 points
• 71 - 100% = 3 points
• if a horse has 3 starts or less: 66 - 100% = 1 point
• no form = 0 points
Fitness days last ran
• 1 - 7 days = 4 points
• 8 - 14 days = 3 points
• 15 - 21 days = 2 points
• 22 - 28 days = 1 point
• over 29 days = 0 points
Class if you can find out!
• drop in class from last race = 1 point
• same class as last race = 0 points
• up in class from last race = -1 point
C course winner = 0.5 points
D distance winner = 0.5 points
Bonus extra points
• if the horse is Second Favourite = 1 point
• if the horse ran 1 - 7 days ago and came in first = 1 point
• the trainer has 2 horses running in the race. Horse with best Formcast Rating = 1 point
• if the horse is a BF and drop in class = 1 point
• if the horse is running in lane 1 - 4 = 1 point (Royal Ascot only)
• if the horse won last time out and is dropping in class today = -1 point
TOTAL - add up the points, result, highest number should win
Extra judgement
Extra judgement means "making a choice". It is assessing the situation when an obvious winner has not been highlighted. It is when you need to separate "tied totals" or a "no-hoper" looks like it's going to win. You must analyse the results and go with form / Formcast Rating. Nothing beats form, so Grandad Frosty says. Then, pick the horse that has dropped in class. Then weigh-up the situation.
Betting
Always bet to win because this gives the best value for money. Open an account with Betfair and get the best odds. Don't be tempted to place a bet when the circumstances seem tenuous. Never spend what you can't afford. I am not encouraging gambling. The horse racing system is meant to be fun!
